University Seminars Program

The University Seminars Program of Onassis Foundation USA organizes and sponsors the visits of eminent visiting scholars and prestigious speakers from the United States and abroad to University campuses and other educational and cultural institutions across the United States, Canada, Central and South America. Those invitees who offer mini courses and semester courses are integrated in the academic curriculum of the host universities as Onassis Visiting Professors and their students receive the corresponding academic credits.

The Program’s Visiting Scholars offer Seminar, Lectures, Mini Courses and Full Semester Courses on topics that relate to all periods and aspects of Hellenic history, culture and society. The University Seminars Program also enriches its educational initiative through organizing and co-sponsoring special events such as international conferences, documentary film screenings and book presentations throughout the Americas. Selected events are open to the public.

Since the inception of the Program in 2000, more than 200 scholars have been hosted by more than 500 educational and cultural institutions across the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and Colombia.
